While addressing issues and barrier in expanding the talent pipeline, we are also focused on helping the workforce with their growth whether it’s providing apprenticeships as a stepping stone for a career or helping transitioning military members into the workforce.
STEMOVATION
STEMOVATION supports juniors and seniors in the STEM and Bio-Medical Allied Health (BMAH) Magnet programs at Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS). Each year, juniors in these programs complete a Community Challenge project, and often lead to the students senior Capstone Projects.
Impact: After two years of this program, we have assisted with 10 student capstone projects at Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
Teacher Externships
Local school systems work together with FMA member organizations to provide teachers a unique professional development opportunity connecting the classroom to the workplace.
Impact: The Fort Meade Alliance has placed eight teachers within businesses to bring industry experience back to their students.
